Plain-language summary: H.I.M. is a private messaging space for adults 18+.
Be genuine, be kind, and don't use the app to harass, harm, or exploit anyone.
Violations can result in content removal or account termination.

1. Agreement to these terms
By creating an account or using H.I.M., operated by Saman Technologies LLC ("the app," "the service," "we," "us," "our"),
you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here
by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. Age requirement
You must be 18 years of age or older to use H.I.M.
If you are under 18, do not create an account. If we discover that a user is under 18,
we will immediately terminate the account and delete all associated data.
By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old.
3. Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs
under your account. Do not share your credentials with others.
Your screenname is your public identity on H.I.M. You may not use a screenname that impersonates another
person, uses a celebrity or brand name without authorization, or is otherwise deceptive.
You may update your screenname subject to any rate limits imposed by the app.
Screenname availability is not guaranteed.
You may only create one account per person. Creating multiple accounts to evade a ban or circumvent
moderation is a violation of these terms.
4. Acceptable use
Zero tolerance. H.I.M. has zero tolerance for objectionable content and
abusive users. Harassment, hate speech, threats, sexual exploitation, and other abusive or
objectionable content are strictly prohibited. Any member can block or report another member
or message at any time, and we remove violating content and suspend or terminate offending
accounts. See

You agree that you will not use H.I.M. to:

Harass, threaten, or harm others. This includes bullying, targeted harassment, hate speech
based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability,
or any other protected characteristic, and content that incites violence against any individual or group.

Share content involving minors sexually. Any content that sexually exploits or depicts
minors (CSAM) will result in immediate permanent account termination and reporting to law enforcement
and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).

Impersonate any person or entity. This includes impersonating other H.I.M. users,
public figures, companies, or H.I.M. staff.

Solicit off-platform transactions or contact. Using the app to solicit payment,
personal contact information, or real-world meetups in exchange for sexual content or favors is prohibited.
Sex work solicitation is not permitted on H.I.M.

Spam or abuse the messaging system. Sending unsolicited bulk messages, automated messages,
or flooding other users' inboxes is prohibited.

Distribute malware or phishing content. Do not send links or files designed to compromise
another person's device, account, or personal information.

Violate any applicable law. This includes laws governing privacy, intellectual property,
defamation, fraud, and export controls.

Attempt to circumvent security controls. Do not reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to
gain unauthorized access to the app, its API, or other users' accounts.
This list is not exhaustive. We reserve the right to take action against any use of the service that
we determine, in our sole discretion, to be harmful to users or to the community.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of the messages, media, and other content you create and share on H.I.M.
By posting content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, transmit,
and display your content solely as necessary to operate the service (for example, delivering a message
to its recipient or displaying your profile to other users).
You represent and warrant that: (a) you own or have the necessary rights to share your content;
(b) your content does not violate these terms or any applicable law; and (c) your content does not
infringe the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other rights of any third party.
We do not review all content before it is posted. An automated keyword filter screens message text
before it is stored; messages that trigger the filter are flagged for review and hidden from recipients
pending moderation. This filter is not a guarantee that all harmful content will be caught.
6. Content moderation & enforcement
We use a combination of automated filtering and human review to enforce these terms.
Automated screening
Every message is screened by an automated filter before it is stored. Messages that match the filter
are flagged; flagged messages are hidden from the recipient with a placeholder notice and queued for
human review. Automated flagging is not a finding of wrongdoing — it triggers a review process.
User reporting
You can report any message or user directly in the app by long-pressing a message or visiting a user's
profile. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team.
Enforcement actions
Depending on the nature and severity of the violation, we may take one or more of the following actions:
- Remove the specific content.
- Issue a warning to the account.
- Temporarily suspend the account.
- Permanently terminate the account.
- Report to law enforcement where required by law or where we determine the situation warrants it.
We aim to apply enforcement actions proportionate to the violation, but we reserve the right to act
in our sole discretion to protect users and the community.
7. Account termination
We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account, with or without notice, if we
determine that you have violated these terms or that your continued use of the service poses a risk
to other users or to the service's integrity.
Upon termination by us, your access to the service will be removed. Content you have shared with others
(such as messages they received) may remain visible to those recipients unless also removed as part of
the enforcement action.

8. Account deletion
You may delete your account at any time from Account → Delete account within the app.
Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. It will erase:
- Your profile, screenname, bio, avatar, and status message.
- All messages you sent and received (both sides of every conversation).
- Your room memberships and room message history.
- Your buddy list and connection records.
- Your push tokens and notification preferences.
- Your saved messages, privacy settings, and DM preferences.
- Your authentication credentials.
Certain records — specifically, moderation records related to abuse reports — may be retained after deletion
where required by law. See our Privacy Policy for details.
9. Third-party services
H.I.M. relies on third-party infrastructure providers to operate. By using the app, you acknowledge
that your data is processed by these providers as described in our Privacy Policy.
We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of third-party service providers beyond what is required
by applicable law.
The app may contain links to external websites or services. We are not responsible for the content,
privacy practices, or terms of those third-party sites.
10. No warranty
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED,
INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE,
AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE
OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
We do not guarantee the delivery, accuracy, or completeness of any message transmitted through the service.
Messages may be delayed, lost, or filtered by content moderation.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL,
SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE
LOSSES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence,
for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded by applicable law.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of

14. Changes to these terms
